The Winds of Revival

by: Jennifer Schmidt

The winds of revival have begun to blow across our globe. Set your sail to catch the wind.

...suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting Acts 2:2

Last week I stood outside with my family just as a summer thunderstorm was popping up. The first indication of the impending storm was a change in the wind. We felt the wind kick up around us, blowing with a fresh fervor in a new direction. Then the sky grew darker and thunder rumbled. We ran inside just as the first drops fell. It actually proved to be quite an intense experience for my young children to feel, hear, and see the oncoming thunderstorm. Typically the kids find themselves in the safety and comfort of the house as a storm approaches rather than outside in the midst of its onset. But today was different, what they felt firsthand they became captivated by. Together we huddled around the windows and watched every moment of the fierce but fleeting storm blow through.

Similarly, we find ourselves in the midst of the onset of a global revival. Can you feel it? The winds of revival have begun to blow across our globe. While the news paints a dire and somewhat hopeless picture of our current reality, the Holy Spirit is blowing with fresh fervor the winds of revival.

“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:1,2).

As God’s children, filled with His Spirit, we can see and feel his move among us. Excitement is brewing among the body of Christ as God is revealing Himself and His plans for global revival to us in this historic season. The winds are shifting, blowing in a new direction, increasing in strength and power. Feel it. Declare it. Move with it. Catch the wind.

“We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon His people once again.” - Dr. G. Campbell Morgan

As the winds of global revival blow with increased fervor, set your sail to catch it! Like my children last week, the wind we feel firsthand we become captivated by. Holy Spirit is testifying to us about God’s heart for all the know Him. Holy Spirit is revealing His supernatural agenda in the midst of these trying times so that we might become captivated by it as our Father is. Let hope flood your heart, love overwhelm your heart, and anticipation fill your mind as you become captivated by the onset of this revival that God has chosen for such a time as this.

You have been supernaturally gifted and strategically trained and positioned in preparation for this revival. While it is not ours to generate revival, we are called to prepare and receive the harvest of revival in our homes, churches, and communities. Today, ask Holy Spirit to show you a picture of the global revival He is orchestrating in our day. He is eager to show you what is to come and the role He has prepared you to play. Spend some time listening and envisioning the word of the Lord coming to pass. The glory will be unmistakable and incomparable.

Prayer

Lord, reveal to me you plan for revival! Show me what this will look like and how you have strategically positioned and prepared me to partner with your plan. I am here, use me. My life is yours to use in any way that will welcome others into the kingdom. Holy Spirit move hearts like only you can! Open eyes to see your goodness and open ears to hear your call to come home. Let this be a time of revival like no other in history! To you be the glory, Lord!
