Born to Bear Fruit

by: Michelle Haswell

“He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of his life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” Psalms‬ 1:3‬ TPT‬‬

Years ago we visited a vineyard and I remember being amazed at the size of the bunches of grapes on the vine. They were heavy and just waiting to be picked and used to make wine. The area was lush and green and everything seemed to grow in abundance. Clearly these vines were planted in excellent soil.

The word of God tells us in Psalm 1 that when our delight is in Him, we will be like trees firmly planted by the streams, bearing much fruit in every season of our lives. A tree planted near a good water supply where it’s roots are continually fed will be the tree that bears the most fruit.

In Genesis 49:22 Joseph is called a fruitful vine near a spring whose branches climb over the wall.

John 15:22 tells us the our Father has chosen and appointed us to bear fruit that is lasting.

When we are rooted in His love and we know that He is good, we will bear much fruit. Just like the grapes on the vine, we will bear the fruit of joy and peace and love because our roots are planted in the streams of living water. The fruit we bear is not dependent on the season of our life but rather it is dependent on delighting in Him and knowing that He loves us. When we live soaked in His goodness, our lives will overflow with good fruit.

May I encourage you to take some time this week to soak in His love. You are approved of and deeply loved and He has chosen you to flourish and bear much fruit all the days of your life!

Prayer

Father God, thank you that you soak us and saturate us with your Love. Be the soil that I plant myself today, amidst all the moments that are here around me today. I receive the nutrients that I soak up from you, as My Source. In Jesus Name.
Amen.
