Discovering the Secret to Triumphant Living

by: Karlene Bartolo

We live as overcomers because we are not conformed to this world.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12: 1-2 (NIV)

Can we really live a triumphant and victorious life in Christ? Many believers and unbelievers ponder this question daily. The truth is, on our own, it’s impossible!

In order to live triumphantly, we need to see things the way God does. Scripture promises that we have been given “the mind of Christ”. However, it’s like being given a treasure box that needs opening. If we don’t open the box, we can’t take advantage of what’s inside.

So let’s unlock this box. As we read God’s words and continue in prayer, the Holy Spirit reveals His heart to us. We begin taking on a new mindset—the mind of Christ—and our lives are transformed. We begin unpacking the box and discover the treasure inside: all God’s plans and purposes for our lives. The mind that is in sync with Christ automatically experiences victory because Christ is victorious.

Renewing our minds doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t mean we lie to ourselves that everything is well. It means that, since we interpret our circumstances through God’s eyes, we know that “He is working everything for our good” because He loves us. As this truth saturates our hearts and minds, we begin to think victoriously, live victoriously and act victoriously. (1 Corinthians 2:16 Romans 8:28)

Prayer

Thank You, Father, that You have given me the ability to see through Your eyes. Help me to meditate on Your words daily, so that I can know Your heart and allow Your truth to guide my thoughts. I want to see my circumstances the way You see them.  I want to live in my inheritance: a triumphant life!
