Holy and Without Fault

by: Robin Johnson

God is empowering us to live a holy life, obedient to His call + good purposes.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:26-27 NIV

As I was praying, the Lord brought to mind this phrase from Ephesians 1:4 NLT - holy and without fault in his eyes. When you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit. And those that are his own, he sees as “holy and without fault in his eyes.” What an incredible truth! You Are Holy! You Are Without Fault In HIs Eyes! I encourage you to always stand firm in this view the Lord has of you.

I remember the first time I saw this truth in scripture. It seemed too good to be true. But there it was, plain as day in God’s Word. I knew the Lord was inviting me to believe, but it raised a BIG question: What about obedience? If God sees my as holy and without fault, does obedience matter? It took awhile for me to see the answer to my questions in scriptures, and that was a lesson in itself! I learned that when I don’t understand everything, I find rest in saying this, “I don’t know, but this is what I do know ….” I go back to the revelation and truth that I know that I know, and trust the Lord will continue to reveal the answers to my questions.

The Lord invites you to believe the revelation he is showing you without having all the answers to your questions right away. He is faithful to bring to light the answers you seek! Stand firm in the light he has given you, and he will give you even more. Psalm 36:9 says it like this, “For with you is the fountain of life, in your light we see light.” Or in other words, it’s in the revelation that you do have that he is able to reveal more and more.

The Lord hears your cries for understanding. Knock and keep on knocking; ask and keep on asking; seek and keep on seeking! Be at peace, and get ready for more understanding.

In case you’re wondering, the two scriptures that answered my BIG question are below. There are many more, but the Lord used these two to show me that when he comes to live inside us, he is empowering us to live a holy life! Obedience is important, and the Lord is working in us the passion to do what pleases him.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Ezekiel 36:26-27 NIV

“… continue to make this new life fully manifested as you live in the holy awe of God—which brings you trembling into his presence. God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.” Philippians 2:12-13 TPT

Prayer

Dear Jesus, Thank you for making me your own and imparting your holiness to me. I ask today for revelation, not just to the questions I’m asking, but greater revelation to see you for who you truly are and walk in step with you. I want to obey your every word and walk forward in your kingdom plans. As you speak and reveal yourself and your ways to me, you will continue to have my willing “yes.” Thank you for sustaining me with your presence and your promises in this journey.
