got life? part 2

by: LauraBoal

God's plan reaches beyond anything we can imagine. His grace connects ordinary-seeming people to His actual presence, love and power. He brings us life!

I pray that [the Father] would pour out over you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life, providing you with a secure foundation that grows and grows. …Endless love beyond measurement, beyond academic knowledge—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you. Ephesians 3:14-20, The Passion Translation (Simmons)

Got life?

If not, let me take you straight to the source. He is the wellspring of all life. His power is so great that when He said, “Let there be light…” whole galaxies of pure energy exploded from His presence, and they are moving still.

And He has noticed you!

You see, God’s plan goes far beyond anything you have imagined. He wants more for you than a pleasant, bland, tepid morality that leaves the world indifferent. He wants more than our own self-effort or self-righteousness could ever possibly produce: He wants to connect us to Himself.

That’s why God did all the crazy stuff that doesn’t make sense (from a human standpoint). It’s why Jesus put skin on, lived a sinless life, fulfilled the Law and cancelled it, died to pay for our sins and rose from the dead. It’s why He dealt with the sin issue and gave us access to a righteousness that comes from His presence within us, rather than from our own puny efforts on the outside. Not so we could try harder to show Him we appreciate it! So He could rebirth us as new creations, citizens of Heaven who are living on Earth; ordinary-seeming people indwelt by His actual presence, permanently connected to His love and power.

God loves you more than you could possibly imagine. He doesn’t love you for the good things you can do. He loves you in spite of the bad things you have done. He just loves you. His love isn’t weak or foolish, it’s wise and powerful. It’s full of joy and freedom. Living in His love is like standing under an invisible waterfall of grace. That love cannot be stopped by our own poor choices, by problems or even tragedies. It connects us, at all times, to the One who is the source of all life.

Are you worn out with your efforts to be a “good” person? Come stand under the waterfall of God’s grace. He intends to do for you what you could never do for yourself—link you to His presence, so His love and joy begin to flood you from the inside out. In His presence you’ll discover who you were truly meant to be. You’ll discover life!

(Genesis 1, Romans 5-6, Romans 8:31-39, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2-3)

Prayer

Lord, Your plan for me is amazing. I receive Your grace. Fill me with Your presence and do everything in me that You mean to do. Thank You, Lord!
