Give only what you have received…
The kindness of God enables us to be kind to others.
...Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, with lovingkindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you. Jeremiah 31:3 AMP
God is not mad at you. He’s madly in love with you! He draws you with His kindness and woos you with His love. And because you are created in His image, you have His same kindness. That’s what He asks you to use to draw other people to Him.
Here’s the awesome part: whatever God asks of us, He also empowers us to do. Think about what that really means. Not only does God give us the ability to do whatever He asks, He is present with us, doing it for us and through us.
We don’t have to fake it or ‘try really hard’ to be kind; instead, God demonstrates His kindness to us and we simply give kindness to others out of the overflow. As we allow God to love us tenderly and draw upon His unending kindness, only then will we have any kindness to share (Romans 1:5 TLB; Philippians 2:13).
Prayer
God, I receive Your love and kindness for me. Thank you for loving me deeply and tenderly. As I embrace Your kindness, I trust that I will be able to show that same kindness to others.
