Do Not Fear

We can walk in faith-filled victory because of Jesus Christ!

‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ Isaiah 41:10 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Do Not Fear.

How many times have I read that? How many times have I heard that? Yet, just a few weeks ago I was tempted to choose fear.

I have a business associate that I have been working with for almost a year now. A year! By now, you would think that I know him - know his character. Yet, just a few weeks ago, I was in doubt. My adversary was speaking in my head in first person singular. He does that to us all. We think it is our thoughts. But no, it is the father of all lies instead. “Is my business associate still with me?”

Sitting at my computer, I was preparing to contact him and say “What gives?”. But the Lord said “Don’t do it. Things in this world do not always appear to be as they truly are.” I wanted to argue but, this time, I listened to that still small voice saying “Trust me”. So, I chose to trust Him and to push away the doubts and fear.

About a week later, my business associate contacted me and gave me the best news versus the bad news. And in that moment the Lord said “Remember Job?”.

Job 3:24-26 The Message (MSG)

“Instead of bread I get groans for my supper, then leave the table and vomit my anguish. The worst of my fears has come true,

what I’ve dreaded most has happened. My repose is shattered, my peace destroyed. No rest for me, ever—death has invaded life.”

Then, He says “Fear really IS the antithesis of faith. If you had communicated your fears, what you feared would have come to pass. The circumstances of your life would have been aligned and altered. But, you choose to trust, to walk in faith, and your faith has accomplished it’s desire.” Wow.

This week, that “thing” that we have been working on together is coming to fruition. We are having a celebratory dinner and there will be prayer and supplication with thanksgiving.

Sometimes I fail to sincerely talk to Jesus and express the desires of my heart. I choose doubt and fear. I think about His sovereign will and wonder if THIS is something that He will do. Then, His Spirit reminds me that, through His shed blood on the cross, being both fully God and fully man, that the Blood of God and the blood of man (oh that precious blood), came together to perfect for eternity, the covenant between God and man - between Jesus and you and me. He is our great high priest Who goes before the throne, perfecting our prayers and interceding on our behalf with words too deep for groaning. And this great high priest, Jesus, says to you and me, “What is it that you want my child and servant?”

So, my brothers and sisters, fear not. Choose faith and walk in the victory that is yours in Christ Jesus.

From me to you in love: May the Glory of the Lord surround you, may the Power of the Lord infuse you, and may the Authority of the Lord be in command over you all. Finish strong!

Prayer

Search our hearts and know that we are Yours, and in being Yours Lord, answer our prayers as You have commanded us to pray. We will walk by faith, not by sight, not in mere hope, and know that You are who You say You are. For you are not One who causes fear, timidity, or confusion but One who oversees power, love and a sound mind!
Amen.
