A Kingdom Key: Worship in the Pressure

by: Kristine Wendt

Circumstances needn't lead out on what we worship. Worshipping situations, lack, negativity isn't our portion; no, unhindered and raw worship toward God is a kingdom key in this life, because Heaven is what leads us, as His Children.

"Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven." Matthew 6:10 Psalm 34:1-4, Colossians 3:2, Revelation 5:12

Atmospheric pressure is the force exerted by the atmosphere at any given point. The atmospheric pressure of heaven is entirely different from the atmospheric pressure of earth. The weight of heaven’s air is entirely different from the weight of air here on earth. Here and now, we have a variety of pressures stacking to distract us and clamoring for our attention. In the heaven our spirits long for, the atmospheric layer is light and ripe with rejoicing.

Jesus indicated that we can live heaven on earth (Matthew 6:10), thereby we can tangibly adjust the atmospheric pressures upon us by pushing back in a posture of worship.

Disappointments become dance floors.
Fears become the white flags of surrender.
Agonies become awe-struck testimonies of His movement.
Injustices become the interlude toward greater intimacy.

When we enter into the heaven-to-come, we will not be able to praise him in the storm. There will be no storms. We will not be able to war with worship. There will be no war zone, we will be simply stunned by His majesty. Worshipping in the gap and praising the in the wait is an earthbound reality, but a delight, because of the heavenly narrative we live from.
Worship in the pressure is a lifestyle habit the more we intricately acknowledge and know God’s Nature and God’s Presence.

KNOW GOD’S NATURE
When we can recognize his habits toward us and his attitude in our lives, we have made mention of the nature of God, his character. We look back on our lives and intentionally acknowledge Father God’s provision, power, protection and plans. We take stock and with praise, we call him good, steadfast, kind, faithful and enduring.

God’s Goodness “Lord! I’m bursting with joy over what you’ve done for me! My lips are full of perpetual praise. I’m boasting of you and all your works, so let all who are discouraged take heart. Join me, everyone! Let’s praise the Lord together. Let’s make him famous! Let’s make his name glorious to all. Listen to my testimony: I cried to God in my distress and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears!” Psalm 34:1-4

“I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help. But then I realize that our true help and protection come only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth. He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall. God is my Keeper; he will never forget or ignore me.” Psalm 121 :: GOD PROTECTS US // A song of the stairway

KNOW GOD’S PRESENCE
The presence of God is the worship connection we have face-to-face with him and that is all we need, yet our mouths spill superlatives about WHO he is! We see him as love, as holy, everlasting, majestic and magnificent.

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, power, for you created all things, and by your plan they were created and exist.” Revelation 5:12

We can bring the pressure of heaven to earth, so that the pressures of earth don’t bring us down from our heavenly seating (Ephesians 2:6). Knowing his nature and knowing his presence, more than just mere recognition, are two keys to adjusting the pressure around us.

Prayer

Jesus, thank you that you made a way for me to approach boldly the throne of grace and give my worth-ship to you. I receive. I hunger and I thirst to know you more fully that I might worship you more extravagantly for all of my days. Tune my heart to your melody for the days that have tensions and fix my gaze that I might grow in grace to more fully know your nature and sense your presence. Thank you Heavenly Father!
Amen.
