You are not saved by your love for God. You are saved by His love for you.
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)
God is rich in mercy; not just rich but extraordinarily wealthy. He has more mercy stored up than we could possibly fathom. His love abounds to heights that we, as humans, could not ascend to on our own strength. No matter what we do or how hard we work, we can’t achieve God’s love by ourselves. Thankfully, God has given us His love freely. He has freed us from our transgressions and has called us to walk in His grace. God’s love for us cannot be measured with worldly instruments. His grace does not depend on our behavior. His mercy is not circumstantial. We were saved by God’s love for us, which far outweighs our love for Him. He sacrificed His son so we would know the extraordinary love that He possesses for us. God has acknowledged us as His Sons and Daughters, and He has freed us from all the bondage of sin. His love will never leave us nor forsake us.
Lord, help us to acknowledge and accept Your love which was freely given to us. We want to share Your love with others so that they too may walk in Your mercy all the days of their lives. Guide our paths and bring us opportunities to share with others about the love You have for them. Thank you, Father, for saving us with Your unconditional and unfailing love. Amen.
