Healed by His Wounds

by: Tamika Crane

God paid our ransom so that we would no longer be bound by sickness.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

God makes a promise to us in Isaiah 53:5. He declares that by His wounds we are healed. God is truthful and He always comes through on His promises. When He says that we have been healed by His wounds, that means we are free to walk in healing.

What about our sins, transgressions, infirmities, doubts, worries, struggles, temptations, and anything else that would hinder us from walking in freedom? He took those things and dealt with them once and for all on the cross. He paid our ransom so that we would no longer be bound by sickness. Instead, we have been called to walk in the healing power of the cross. God said He would heal us and so He has. Sickness no longer has a hold on our lives. It cannot slow us down or hinder us from serving the Lord.

God healed us so that we could be living testimonies of His healing power. He died so we could be healed, and His wounds paid the price for our repair.

Prayer

Father, thank you for sending Your son down to earth to free us from our transgressions. Thank you for delivering us from sickness and infirmity. We’re no longer bound to illness. We’re free to walk in healing because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross. Thank you, Lord, for dying so that we may be healed. Amen.
