Patience for His healing hand

My horse Josie had an injury that we could not figure out what was wrong for a year, maybe longer. She was on stall rest for 6 months and then we slowly brought her back into shape, her limp was gone and then it came back. My trainers kept saying she was lame and would never get better but I refused to believe it.

We moved barns, got a new farrier and vet. The farrier learned her feet were a few inches different in length and she had been shoed the wrong way for a long time. The vet then took x-rays and saw that she had a cist in her front foot. He gave us two options: we inject her foot or we remove the nerves in the foot. We went with option 1 with the probability she would never jump again. She came back better than expected and I am now jumping her 2' and going strong! I recently did a horse show with her and won the Champion ribbon with four 1st places.
