I am a person who believes the impossible is possible.

by: David Outten

When you see God as bigger than any problem nothing is impossible.

But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it. Numbers 14:24

We live in a world in great need of people who believe the impossible is possible. All you need to do is watch the nightly news and you see problem after problem that looks to the world as impossible to solve. They are not.
When we see them as impossible we’re looking through the eyes of the ten spies sent into the promised land who saw nothing but giants impossible to overcome. Joshua and Caleb saw with godly vision. While the other spies felt like grasshoppers, Joshua and Caleb saw a land of milk and honey God had promised them. The size of the giants did not concern them because they knew the size of the God who sent them to take the land.
Imagine applying this principle to everything from poor schools, to race relations to the national debt. Nothing looks like an impossible problem if you’re a person who believes the impossible is possible when God’s will is pursued with His help.
This is true with challenges in your own life. Sometimes it’s easy to see a family situation as impossible to solve. It is not. The question is, “How would God like to make what looks impossible possible?”
This begins with faith and hope and even these are a gift from God. With faith and hope you see the impossible as possible. You begin to look for God’s wisdom, God’s guidance and God’s intervention.

If you stood looking that the sturdy and tall walls of Jericho you might have thought,”We could all die trying to storm those walls. It is impossible.” Instead God had the people march quietly around the city for seven days and then blow a trumpet. The walls fell (Joshua 6:15-16).
How God makes the impossible possible can often be so unusual that all those who see it say, “That was God at work.”
If you’re a person who wants to believe the impossible is possible you need to be a person hungry to see God at work. God has a plan for the world. He has a plan for you. He has a plan to make the impossible possible.
When you function in his plan and his promises the impossible becomes possible.

Questions for Reflection

1.) What is impossible for God?
2.) What seemingly impossible thing do you want to see as possible?
3.) Do you believe God wants you to see it as possible?

Today’s Declaration

I am a person who believes the impossible is possible.

Prayer

Oh Lord, my God, nothing is impossible for You. Show me what you would have me believe for that looks to the world as impossible. Show me the steps You would have me take in faith that witness to my trust in You. Use me to show the world that nothing is impossible with you.
