A Chosen People
God chose us so that we can witness our testimonies to others.
"In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:11-12 (NIV)
We are a chosen people.
For example: He chose to adopt us. He chose to use us to minister to others. He chose to accept us. He chose to redeem us. He chose us and He wants us to be His sons and daughters.
God decided that He loved us so much that we were worth saving. He chose us so that we can witness our testimonies to others. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
We have established that we have been chosen as God’s people, but now what? God chose us so that we could be testimonies of His grace, like in Peter 2:9. God wants us to know that we are chosen and to share the good news with others! We are no longer enslaved to darkness because God chose to set us free. We have been brought into the light, and we are redeemed. Our Heavenly Father has called us His own, and we are to live as a royal priesthood. The next step is sharing the glorious news of salvation and redemption with others.
Father God, thank you for choosing us and for giving us salvation. Thank you for wanting us to be a part of your family and for adopting us into sonship. Thank you for giving our lives a purpose and for involving us in your plan. Your grace is sufficient and your love is abundant. Thank you for choosing us, and freeing us from the bondage of rejection.
