At Northlands Church, we believe that God reveals Himself when we pray. The scriptures instruct us to pray, tell us that God hears us when we pray, and promise powerful answers to prayer.
Why Prayer is Really Important
As a body of believers, we are experiencing answers to prayer that are both reassuring and remarkable. We follow the examples of Jesus and the early church as we pray individually and together, in faith that God really does respond to our prayers.
Just as the disciples asked Jesus to help them learn to pray (Luke 11:1), we want to always grow in our capacity to pray. Like Cornelius in the book of Acts (Acts 10:1-4), we endeavor to be faithful to pray. And like the persistent widow in the parable told by Jesus (Luke 18:1-8), we believe that we should always pray and not give up.
Time spent in prayer can be as simple as conversation, and as significant as intimate fellowship in the presence of God. It can be private, or in a group, or together with the whole church. You can pray for yourself, for those you love, and even for people you’ve never met. All of these experiences with prayer hold the promise of great reward.
