Missions: Impacting Nations

Jesus said, “Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples.”

Matthew 28:19

If our relationship with God is kept inside church walls and our homes, it cannot be effective in the way God wants it to be. Not only should we take our faith into our community, we should take it to the world.

Short-term missions around the globe

Northlands is committed to a worldwide vision through active involvement in short term mission trips to Rwanda, Russia and eastern Europe, Peru and other parts of South America, and other places around the globe. If you yearn to reach out to the poor in developing nations, Northlands can provide ample opportunity for you to fulfill that calling on your life.

While not everyone can go on a mission trip, the entire church participates through prayer and other support for mission team members. But for those who are able to go, a life-changing experience awaits them. If you have never done volunteer work abroad, or if you are a missions ‘veteran,’ there is a place for you to plug in.

Whether through Northlands itself or in partnership with the non-profit ministries of Northlands members, you will be able to choose from a variety of work in a variety of countries and cultures to bless others in distant lands.

Your life will change, too

In the tough economic times we are living in, it’s all the more important for people to travel abroad to help the poor.  Missions work requires an investment of time and money but, unlike the investments we have in this life, there’s an eternal return on your mission trip investment.

So many things happen on these trips. Feeding the poor, construction projects, medical clinics, street evangelism using Christian drama, bringing encouraging messages…all this and more takes place in union with the local church in that particular country.  And while God certainly uses you to bless others, the blessing you receive is even greater than what you give.

It is so easy to complain about difficult circumstances of life we face, but when you touch the poor in a developing nation and give out of your own need, something happens inside of you.  Your eyes are opened to see how blessed we are in the U.S. and, when life gets tough, you can be thankful for all that is right in your life instead of grumbling about you see as wrong.

Also, because work abroad is so intense and meaningful, you quickly develop deep relationships with the indigenous people you work with.  Life-long friendships will take root and as soon as you return to “normal life” in this country, you may find yourself planning how you can return to once again help your friends abroad.

You can touch the world!

Can one person touch the world? Absolutely. One person can make a profound difference in the life of another, whether in this country or another.  One person who goes in the name of the Lord becomes his hands, his heart and his body to minister to those who have need.

If your desire is to touch the world, Northlands provides the opportunity you seek.

"Northlands is an oasis to refresh & equip people to fulfill their God-given Destiny"
