College & Career Ministry

The College and Career ministry is aimed at college students and young adults who are pursuing their career goals. This ministry strives to meet social, intellectual, and spiritual needs by providing an opportunity for meeting like-minding people in an environment that is fun and encouraging. The once-a-month gatherings are fun-filled, casual, and low-cost events that cultivate long-lasting relationships.
 
Grant and Stephanie Jackson will be leading the ministry with Liesl van Zyl.
 
Grant and Stephanie Jackson are a young married couple both of whom are pursuing their own new careers post college. Grant graduated in Marketing Management from the University of South Africa and currently works in advertising/marketing and is a professional photographer. Stephanie is a graduate of Auburn University in Medical Science and is currently a Product Manager for a Science/Medical Education company.
 
Liesl van Zyl is currently a college student majoring in Education.
 
The events vary from low-key fun nights just for hanging out, to discussion evenings about current issues we face everyday at universities and workplaces. Sometimes for the discussion, a short movie clip is shown that relates to a popular issue, and then the rest of the evening is an open forum for conversation and input on the subject.
 
Here’s what Grant and Stephanie have to say about the Northlands Church College and Career group:
“We will be aiming to create a fun, enjoyable group where the young adults will have a time and space to connect and build friendships, living life released into the freedom of the abundant grace of God.”
